GAITHERSBERG, MD -- Sequoia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced that it has raised $35 million in a series C round of financing led by The Wellcome Trust. Additional investors included Sofinnova Partners, Aberdare Ventures, Healthcare Ventures and new investor MedImmune Ventures. The company intends to use the funding proceeds to further develop its pipeline of candidates for treatment of drug-resistant HIV infections, which include an HIV protease inhibitor and a Pharmacokinetic Enhancer.
